Medium: dance Focus: My work focuses on the relationship between improvised dance and music. I create dynamic performance work that combines the formalism of choreography and the spontaneity of improvisation. Biography: Daniel Burkholder is the artistic director of the PlayGround, a movement based improvisational performance group. His work has been shown at Dance Place, the Kennedy Center, Joe's Movement Emporum, and the Clarice Smith Center for the Performing Arts as well as in New York City, San Francisco and throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
