Marcia F. Freeman


Marcia F. Freeman, MA, has over 50 years of dance training, including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, African and other ethnic dance forms.  Marcia taught and choreographed for almost 30 years at Gallaudet’s Model Secondary School for the Deaf and Kendall Demonstration Elementary School.  She offers private and small group classes in the Alexander Technique (25 years experience) and “Normal Function”, a movement technique based on the principles of Structural Integration (Rolfing).  She teaches a gentle yoga class at Joe's Movement Emporium which incorporates these methodologies.

Artist Statement/Focus

I am a body worker (the Alexander Technique and Normal Function), dancer, choreographer, teacher, actress and American Sign Language interpreter.   Services offered: lessons for individuals and groups, and sign language interpretation.  In addition  local wellness practitioners offer Reiki and massage in my private space  at Joe's Movement Emporium.  Target audience:  adults/young adults, families.
