Monifa L. Jackson aka SelahthePoet began her poetic journey in Columbia SC in the late nineties where she has been host and feature since 1998. Originally from New York City, Monifa has been in the theatrical arts most of her life and is now a published poet, public speaker and Co-founder of The Watering Hole Poetry Group; a home for southern poets of color. Her work can be most recently found in "Home is Where", an anthology of southern poets edited by Dr. Kwame Dawes. She is currently editing her first book, "Between the Cracks of Concrete Thighs, Vol. 2" to be released Spring 2014. She now lives in Bowie, Maryland where she is teaching poetry appreciation and theatrical arts to young children in the PG County School System... and Mommying.
