Vera Hope Walston
Vera Hope WalstonÕs work is inspired by her dreams. Moved to create through a series of nocturnal messages, Walston turns everyday objects into statements of celebration. She has drawn from the talents and examples of her aunts, grandmother, and mother, who encouraged her interest in design. Her training as a fiber artist inspired her to look more closely at commonplace building materials. Walston most recently exhibited as part of the show New Visions: Emerging Trends in African American Art, a city-wide celebration of African American culture at the Smithsonian Anacostia Museum.
