Blue Sky Puppet Theatre, founded in 1974, is one of the region's most prolific educational children's theatres performing over 1000 shows a year with a touring radius of the Baltimore/Washington corridor and the mid atlantic region. The company specializes in fine art and educational topics geared to the elementary school age child with topics ranging from peaceful conflict resolution to math education, bullying and saving the planet.

Michael Cotter, director, producer, founder of Blue Sky Puppet Theatre, is a 40 year native of Hyattsville Educated at Gonzaga High School and the University of Scranton, he has taught drama, art, dance, music to K-8th grade since 1974 and is currently adjunct professor of theatre at the University of Maryland. Blue Sky Puppet Theatre currently performs a repertoire of 14 shows, averaging 1300 presentations a year locally and regionally.
