Each public artwork was likely commissioned by organizations such as the Prince George's Art in Public Places Program, M-NCPPC's Department of Parks and Recreation, the Hyattsville CDC, the Gateway CDC, Prince George's Arts & Humanities Council or a private organization. We've scouted on foot and searched online, taking and locating photos, and when possible--asking artists about their process, and recording stories from commissioning organizations. Use our list as a map north-south of public art in our area. We hope in the future to add public art performances to our listing.
