Prince George’s County Revitalization Tax Credit
Before beginning on the process, please contact the Hyattsville CDC to seek a walkthrough of the program.
- The Prince George's County Revitalization Tax Credit has two components: Residential and Non-Residential (i.e. Commercial, Industrial, Office, etc.). Properties within census tracts of the Gateway Arts & Entertainment District are eligible for tax credits.
- Residential Improvements provide a 3-year (three) period. The first tax year immediately following the year in which improvements are completed and assessed provides a 100% county tax credit (only on county taxes, not your municipality's taxes). The second year is 66% of the increased assessment. The third is 33%. Maximum amount eligible for the tax credit will be $200,000 per dwelling unit.
- Non-Residential Improvements provide a 5-year (five) period. The first tax year immediately following the year in which improvements are completed and assessed provides a 100% county tax credit (only on county taxes, not your municipality's taxes). The second year is 80% of the increased assessment. The third is 60%, the fourth is 40% and the 5th is 20%. There is no cap on the tax credit for non-residential properties.
